You're not alone! Here are the most common issues Clear Mornings users encounter, with quick fixes that work. ## Translation Keys Showing Instead of Text **Symptom**: You see text like `habits.title` or `common.save` instead of actual words. **What happened**: This was a known issue in versions before v0.9.6+ where translation keys weren't loading properly on certain pages. **Quick Fix**: 1. **Hard refresh the page** - Press `Cmd+Shift+R` (Mac) or `Ctrl+Shift+R` (Windows/Linux) 2. **Clear your browser cache** - Go to Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data 3. **Update your browser** - Make sure you're on the latest version **Fixed in v0.9.6+**: If you're still seeing translation keys, try logging out and back in. This forces a complete app reload with fresh translations. **Still broken?** Check your browser's console (F12 > Console tab) for errors. If you see locale-related errors, try switching your language in Settings and switching back. --- ## Data Not Syncing **Symptom**: Changes you make on one device don't appear on another, or habits/food logs seem stuck. **Common Causes**: - Poor internet connection - Browser cache holding old data - Session expired **Quick Fixes**: ### Step 1: Check Your Connection - Look for the sync icon in the top right - If it's spinning endlessly, your internet may be unstable - Try switching from WiFi to cellular (or vice versa) ### Step 2: Force a Refresh ``` 1. Close all Clear Mornings tabs 2. Clear your browser cache 3. Reopen Clear Morning 4. Log in again ``` ### Step 3: Check Session Status - If you see a "Session expired" message, just log back in - Your data is safe in the database - it just needs a fresh connection **Multi-Device Sync**: Changes can take 5-10 seconds to sync between devices. If you're rapidly switching between phone and desktop, give it a moment before assuming data is lost. **Still not syncing?** This might be a Row Level Security (RLS) policy issue. There are no passwords in Clear Mornings. You sign in with a 6-digit code we text you, or with Google, Apple or Facebook. **For phone sign-in**: 1. **Check the number** - sign-in is US numbers only, and the field already supplies the +1 2. **Check filtered messages** - some carriers file automated texts separately 3. **Wait 30 seconds for Resend** - the link appears after the cooldown 4. **You get one resend** - after that, go back and start a fresh attempt 5. **Use the newest code** - resending makes the previous one stop working **For Google, Apple or Facebook**: 1. **Use the same button you used the first time** - the account is tied to that provider 2. **Avoid in-app browsers** - a link opened inside Instagram or Facebook often can't complete the handoff; open it in Safari or Chrome 3. **Try a private window** - rules out an extension interfering **Sessions refresh themselves.** Ordinary use won't sign you out. Clearing site data, using a private window, or signing out will. Sessions are per device. See our dedicated [Authentication Troubleshooting](/kb/troubleshooting/authentication-help) guide for more. --- ## Habits Not Saving **Symptom**: You check off a habit or create a new one, but it disappears or doesn't stick. **Instant Fixes**: ### Check 1: Network Connection - Habit saves require internet - Look for a red "offline" indicator - If offline, your save is queued and will sync when you're back online ### Check 2: Habit Count Habit count is **unlimited on every plan** (Free and Member), so a habit failing to save is never a plan-limit issue — check your connection (above) and browser storage (below) instead. ### Check 3: Browser Storage ``` 1. Open browser DevTools (F12) 2. Go to Application > Storage 3. Check if "Clear Mornings" storage is near quota 4. If yes, clear old data or upgrade browser ``` ### Check 4: Form Validation - Habit name required (1-100 characters) - Category required (Recovery/Exercise/Nutrition) - Goal must be a positive number **Duplicate Habit Names**: You can't have two habits with the exact same name in the same category. If your save is failing, try a unique name. **Advanced debugging**: 1. Open DevTools Console (F12 > Console) 2. Try saving the habit again 3. Look for red error messages 4.
